Around 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region were targeted with bomb threats via email early on Tuesday, leading authorities to urge parents to collect their children and launch a probe by central agencies. Similar threats were also reported by airports in the past two days and several hospitals on Monday.

Officials indicated that all schools in Delhi and the NCR received identical bomb threat emails, which initially seem to have originated from Russia. Central agencies, including the National Investigation Agency, have begun coordinating and gathering information from Delhi and Noida police.

Senior police officers confirmed that various schools, including Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri and DPS in Vasant Kunj and R K Puram, received threatening emails around 4 am, claiming bombs had been planted inside. Investigations suggest a potential compromise of the school database, with authorities actively tracing the origin of the emails.

Authorities deployed bomb squads and police units, with evacuations conducted at affected schools such as DPS Noida, Amity Saket and Pushp Vihar. The Southwest district saw the evacuation of five schools. Cybercrime units have been engaged to track down the perpetrators, as the emails are believed to have been generated through foreign VPN networks.

The threat extended beyond Delhi, with similar incidents reported in other states over the past two days, targeting airports and hospitals. Amid the developments, Delhi Minister Atishi assured the public of ongoing police searches and urged citizens not to panic. She also mentioned the authorities and schools are coordinating with each other for conducting threat assessments.

While the investigation continues, staff and student safety remain paramount, with increased security measures in place across educational institutions in Delhi and the NCR.
